The Impact of Ms Joan’s Teaching on Student Success

Ms Joan is a role model teacher who ensures her students are able to shine to the best of their abilities. Her lessons come with useful notes that include answering techniques for different types of content students come across frequently in exams, from summary to essays. 

Not only do these notes serve as an instruction manual for us to refer to, she further reinforces these concepts and techniques during lesson time by doing practices & going through them, making sure that everything, from our thought process to how we phrase our answers, runs like clockwork. 

Ms Joan does not hesitate to check with us if we can follow the lessons, and makes the effort to prepare notes and practices for us if we ask for assistance in a specific area, such as language use questions.  

Due to her extensive teaching experience in schools, Ms Joan is able to communicate her ideas clearly to her students, in a manner that we are able to understand and follow lessons without fail.

She is engaging during lessons, frequently asking us questions to check our understanding, and gives breaks to make sure we do not feel too exhausted.

Above all is her kindness, as she frequently checks in with us to see how we are doing, be it from our sleep schedule to subject combination choices, and does not fail to empathise with us, sometimes using her own experience to offer advice not just for learning, but for our future. She builds good rapport with her students, such that we can look forward to her lessons.

Ms Joan puts our learning and well-being over everything else, calling those who are unable to attend the lesson on Zoom to ensure they are still able to learn, sending them softcopy versions of the lesson materials, no matter how last-minute the request comes from her students. She also understands when we cannot attend at all due to our hectic schedules. 

Under Ms Joan, I have gained a much deeper understanding of the English language and exam questions, with my results showing visible improvements over time. I have also grown more confident in answering questions, and know what steps to take when I encounter different questions in a paper and what I need to look out for. I have improved greatly in all areas under her, especially my essay writing skills.

Overall, I believe deeply that Ms Joan is a first-rate teacher and educator, and each and every one of her students should feel fortunate to have been taught by her.
